How long do I have to land in the UK after I get my HSMP EC?

Post by caobaoyang » Tue Jun 12, 2007 1:24 pm

Hi buddies,

Can anyone help me with this HSMP problem?

As far as I know, ILR can only be applied for within one month before FLR expires. However if I land in the Uk in 3 months after my EC date, how to deal with the 2 months gap when I apply for ILR 5 years later? Do I have to apply for another HSMP extension (FLR)? In other words, Do I have to land in the UK within 1 month after I get my EC in order to avoid the 2nd HSMP extention?

Many thanks.

Cant say I completely understand your scenario.

You can apply 28 days before you are eligible for ILR so that saves you one month.
So try to arrive in a month after your visa begins

Thanks. But It hard for me to set out now. It has been 13 days since my visa began and I have not made any preparation.

Is there any official document to say when "continuous stay of 5 years" start count?

Read the guidance for the applications for ILR and Naturalization.
Otherwise, make plans quickly or be prepared to pay for an additional application to make up for the gap
