How did you manage to get in touch with case worker? Email or call. Please can enlighten us?
Via email!!! I got on his nerves 'til he answered! But I have to say that our case worker is quite "stupid" he calls my partner wife, when he clearly made a decision on an unmarried partner case! And he can't write grammatically correct sentences!
He was telling us last Friday that the decision has been dispatched! Today he referred to a management check and that the decision will be dispatched today! Lets wait and see what the outcome is! (Scared)

regeeaman wrote:Hi everyone!! I have read this post for quite some time. Its time I put my dates out here for those of you who will be applying via the eea2 route to get a realistic idea.

Date of Application - 27/08/2013
CoA received - 07/09/2013 [ dated 04/09/2013 ]
sent them loads of letters and email meanwhile.....
HO official called me to inform that they have posted my processed application back..gave me the date and ref no. to tarck it [ its feels really nice when they actually call you after you have tried almost 7 times to call them...]
RC received by post - 01/11/2013
duration - exactly 2 months 2 days

the home office can work fairly quick enough after all i guess...
best of luck for all those out there...just remember its just a process to confirm your rights that you have already got...so demand it.

Congratulations I cant believe this time line. I actually applied on the same day as you 27/08/2013. I haven't receive anything apart from our CAO. Please what did you write in the letters and email you sent and to what address. Please advice. I need to do something too.

Hi there

I urgently need some advice, any help would be much appreciated!

My timeline so far is:

11 October: EEA1 & EEA2 applications sent
14 October: HO received (checked by Royal Mail online tracking)
21 October: application fees were deducted from my account (Paid by cheques)
28 October: Request the european national's passport back

So far I haven't heard anything from Home Office at all! No CoA, not even the letter to confirm that they received my applications. Also when I used the online form requesting the passport back, there was a message saying I should receive a email confirming that the request was received, but I got nothing?! (I only have the reference number).

I called them last week to ask whether they are processing my application and if they did receive my request for the passport. The agent said he cannot find my case from the system (so they haven't start my case yet??!!) and he cannot check my request regarding the passport return. He advised me to call back again if I didn't hear anything after 6 weeks since submission.

Is it normal? I am really concerned... Is there any way to chase them up or anything?

Thank you very much!

If they deducted fee then they must have received your application. COA must be issued immediately and for which you should write/call them. For passport return via online form it could take 20 days and 10 days if the return request is for european passport. Many people got back their passports even via emailing them at: LiverpoolEuro.PassportReturns@UKBA.gsi.gov.uk

I'm on my way through 3.5 months, applying as an unmarried partner, and hoping everything is fine, I'll update as soon as I receive a final decision.

thank you Sheraz7

so is it under the law that they must issue the COA right after they have taken the fee(i.e. received my application)? If I email to e.g. Marje.Clarke@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk, would that be able to speed them up? I did call them last week asking where is my confirmation letter but it was pretty unhelpful answer... I will call them again!

And I shall email the address you provided for the passport return query.

Thanks a lot!

Better no to send email to majre clarke at this stage which is too early rather can remind them by calling again or writing to request your COA. For passport Preferably try to wait until their defined time scale of 20 days for he return of passport and after then you can email them which in past many people did and got their passport back. you can check the following thread on experiences in returning back passports:

US national married to German, exercising treaty rights as student.

My timeline:

Application sent: 7 January 2013
COA: 1 February 2013
RC: 15 March 2013 (dated 1 March)

Then my wife lost my passport a week before a trip to San Francisco.

After getting a new passport:

Application sent: 21 June 2013
COA: 28 June 2013
Additional documents sent: 5 July and 11 July 2013

Many e-mails sent asking for confirmation in July that they had received the additional documents, including an e-mail to the complaint department (31 July).

Letter dated 10 October 2013 confirming receipt of documents.

E-mail and phone call to Home Office yesterday to ask for update – they refused to tell me what the decision was, but gave me a tracking number for the Special Delivery envelope that I included with my application.

RC received: 7 November 2013

EE2 application proccesing time

Post by Zany » Thu Nov 07, 2013 12:48 pm

We applied for RC via EEA2 application, my husband is non European national and I am European national with UK permanent residence.

Application received by HO- 18th July 2013 (confirmed by them)
CAO received- starting of August 2013
RC- still waiting......

Found out HO called today to my work to check if I am still employed with them, on full time bases and which date I started. So I hope they are working on our application and we will get RC soon.

Still waiting and hoping.....

When you say you have "UK Permanent Residence" do you mean you have a confirmation of your status issued by the HO after living in the UK for 5 years? Or that you are now living in the UK?

If you have been living in the UK for 5 years and obtained PR Confirmation by the HO, you are not required to show that your are employed.

Hi Jambo.

Thank you for your note. That's right. My Permanent Residence has been issued by HO after 6 years working and living in the UK.

In that case, I don't see much point for the caseworker to contact your employer as your employment should not affect your status.

Anyway, I guess this is some indication that something is moving.

Congratulations! I'm applying as an unmarried partner too, sent out my app around mid of July by a lawyer, but I've only received one letter so far, confirming on the receipt of app( dated 17/07/2013), nothing more, not even a COA, anyway I'm not expecting to find a job until I receive my RC, it doesn't bother me too much. The only matter I'm concerned about is the time taken to the final decision that I will receive a RC. I'm hoping my RC may arrive soon.
