Was your daughter born AFTER you became an Irish citizen. If yes, she is an Irish citizen also and needs no visa.

It can be difficult to get a visa for the spouse of an Irish national to travel to Ireland. If it is refused, you will have two options.

1. Apply for a visa for them to go to any other EU country, including Northern Ireland. You then need to get a job in that country and they can go there.
2. If your wife becomes pregnant, and if she can give birth anywhere on the island of Ireland, she can apply to remain in Ireland with her Irish newborn citizen child.

The visa for your children should hopefully be granted even if they are not Irish citizens, as to refuse it would be discrimination against your children, who are entitled to live with their father.

Thank you Brigid for your reply. My daughter was born before my naturalization.normally how long do they take to make the decisions?i can't move to another state because i am working full time in the country. you have mention that the child should be granted the visa bec she is entitled to live with me but can they refuse visa for her mother?
