You should call your bank and check if they have declined this requests. In my experience when they spot an unusual transaction they decline it first and then call the account holder to check whether it was legitimate request and then they put it in the safe list.

Thank you, yes, after reading the posts on the forum I called yesterday to make sure they wouldn't decline it, and today they just called to confirm that they had authorised it, so all good, hopefully.

Glad to see others making progress. We have not been so lucky yet. Apparently the NCS did not forward the payment form so I sent it again and it appears we have gone to the back of the queue (since another week and still no payment taken). Also its so frustrating they send everything second class post which appears to take 5 days in transit. I mean for the nearly £1000 in fees you think they could spend an extra pennies for a letter that holds up the application for so long. I am worried now about what other parts of the application the NCS may have failed to forward.

Eligibility criteria: Spouse of BC, applying under 6(1), discretion requested for excess absenses
Method of application: NCS Lanark
Date of application: 15 October 2013
Date of receipt by UKBA: 17 October 2013 (tracked)
Date of letter requesting payment (NCS failed to forward payment slip): 12 November 2013 (received 16 November)
Date of receipt of new payment slip by UKBA (tracked): 19 November 2013

Date of debit of fees: Not debitted yet
Date of acknowledgement:

That's terrible, I'm sorry to hear that! NCSs are very frustrating! I should write a complaint letter. For £60 all they do is make photocopies and put them in an envelope (there was hardly any 'checking' involved in my case, I was the one telling them what the requirements were), and they can't even do that! I agree about the post as well. Who knows how long that will take in December...
