Confused about ILR

Hello to everyone

Firstly a great thanks to all on these excellent forums, you have helped countless individuals like myself.

Ok so another newbie question and all guidance will be greatly appreciated.

My wife has been in the country since march 2013, she came on a fiancé visa after which we used FLR(M) to apply for further leave. This is a 2.5 year period going to end in Nov 2015. I have a few questions now;

1) Under the new rules a spouse must have 5 years before they can apply for settlement, how does one extend the current spouse visa for another 2.5 years after the initial leave to remain is granted? Is it via the FLR(M) again?

2) When does one need to complete the Life in UK and ESOL course for? Is this when we re-apply for another 2.5 years leave to remain or is this when we apply for settlement?

3) After this 5 year period we will be applying for settlement using SET(m), but what happens after this? Does one have to apply for citizenship separately? Is there a waiting period between getting settlement and applying for citizenship? And finally when would the applicant get a british passport?

I understand that most of this information will be on the UKBA site, but reading several different UKBA pages has left me completely confused.

2. KOLL is required for settlement.
3. If you are British, then she may be eligible to apply for naturalisation from the date she is granted ILR.

Thanks vinny for the reply. On looking at the link you provided for point three, you can apply for naturalization after three years in the UK. Will this apply for my wife? I was under the impression that she could only apply for naturalization after 5 years.

She requires ILR for naturalisation.

Many thanks for all the replies. I now understand what needs to be done at what times. I'm sure I'll need some assistance in the future and hope all the knowledgeable people in these forums will come to my rescue.
