Dad - Family Visit Visa (Please help)

Hi,

I am a British Citizen and attained citizenship via naturalization last year. I would like to invite my dad to visit me here in the UK so I was planning to apply for family visit visa and be the sponsor.

My Dad is retired and is a pensioner so we can easily show historic income flow to his account. He can also show some savings from his account (around 3 Lac Indian Rupees). However, my dad leaves in our family house which is not in his name hence it is not possible for us to show any property documents. Also since I am the sponsor I am in full time employment and have 800-1000 pound in my account every month after all expenses. I rent a 1 bed room apartment hence can show the documents regarding it and the council tax bill too.

My question is:
1) Is there any thing else my Dad would need to show to obtain family visit visa (i.e. does he satisfy visa requirements - strong ties to the country)?

2) Do I sound like a good sponsor as far as my bank account is concerned?

3) In future I would like to apply Indefinite leave for my Mom and Dad...would this be possible?

Please help with my queries.

1) Strong ties are different per person. Someone without a strong income source (e.g. a job) and a house might need to show more family connections ... etc. You need to ask yourself 'what am I showing the ECO that makes him believe he'll return'.

2) It sounds fine. But you will want to check about the size of your property with regards overcrowding.

3) Almost impossible. Seriously.

Thanks for advising......as far as the property I live in is concerned I rent a one bed room flat and stay alone. Do you think a one bed flat is small to invite another family member.

Also you have mentioned it will not be possible to invite my Dad as an elderly dependent in future and apply for indefinite leave. Can you please elaborate why it would not be possible?

Yes, you can bring your dad through elderly dependent routeIF required conditiions are satsified.

Though technically possible but, for majority of the applicants, practically it has become almost impossible to satisfy those revised requirements.
