Hi Guys,

I did post earlier about a red light jump that I think I got flashed on while going to wembley. The thing is that I haven't received a letter from anyone but my royal mail chappie told me that in the recent past a lot of letters for my flat have got displaced.

Is there any way from DVLA or someone I can found out if a penalty notice or point penalty was issued for me? I can't trace the letter but I have a feeling that something was sent but where do i find out from what was sent.

If you changed the address on yrou car registration document as soon as you moved to the new place, then any notice/summons/fpn/nip will automatically arrive at your new address.

Another way is to contact the local police of the area concerned where you think you jumped lights. Ask them to give you the telephone number of thier office that deals with these matters. Policemen refer to this office as "ticket office". Ring this number, and give them details of your vehicle, your old address etc and they will be able to dig out if they have sent you any letters.

You can also check your license details by ringing dvla. I suggest you definitely get in touch with police, as they will know if there is anything pending against you even if nothing had fed through to your driving license records.

You can also ring or visit magistrates court concerned and see if there is anything outstanding against you.

If you do not do anything, and if any action has been initiated against you then you will find that the fine will keep adding up and one day a warrant of arrest will be issued against you and you will be mentioned in PNC as a wanted person. If you get stopped by police after this, then you will spend at least one night in lockup before being presented before a court.

Choose the option applicable for Driver Licencing and someone will pick up. At times you have to wait for a long time.

They will ask you for your Driver Licence Number.
They will cross check the Address on your Licence.

** Keep the Counter Part Licence with you ready when you make the call**

Another important point is in case you have changed your address but not bothered to update your details with DVLA do not mention any of that or invite unwanted trouble.

Ask them if you have any accumulated points, and they will tell you over the phone.
