Web designing job

Hi all the gurus,

I am in the process of applying through 50K/PSW route. I have gone through the SOC CODE and found 2137-Web design and development professionals as appropriate for me. I am planning to use Web designer as my job title.

But the confusion lies within the guideline which states

You must show that you have been working in an occupation which appears on the list of occupations skilled to National Qualifications Framework level 4 or above, as stated in the Codes of Practice on our website. “Working” in this context means that the core service your business provides to its customers or clients involves the business delivering a service in an occupation at this level. It excludes any work involved in administration, marketing or website functions for the business.

The last sentence says excluding website functions. Does it mean I cannot use the web desinger title? or involve in any web designing jobs.

The statement simply means that you cannot claim the service of administration, marketing or website functions for your own business. You can be a Admin consultant, a marketing consultant or Web designer for another company as this are the services your own company renders to someone else and is acceptable.
