Giant powerhouse - independant contractor or salaried

Post by subhsmp » Thu Jun 21, 2007 1:39 pm

Hi,
I am planning to claim points for around 8 months when I was employed with Giant powerhouse ( managed composite company). Should I declare the earning as "Salaried" or "Independant contractor". Has anyone working for Giant powerhouse got HSMP yet?
Also, I do not have a P60 for the current year. I have the P45 and a statement of earnings from Giant. Will these suffice?
thanks for the wealth of knowledge on this board.

I have doubts that now working with a services companies (Giant is one of them) is legal now after new tax rule arrived on 6th April 2007..
you have to check it with some solicitor now..

here are your concerns replies:

1. You should apply as an Independant contractor,

2. Ask p60 for giant, they will be able to give you.P45 is not really needed as a tax proof, as it is produce at employer document.

3. if you are still with Giant, go to your portal and take print of each and every detail available on your portal. those all going to be a good and strong list of proofs..if you are not working them now then go to their office (2 min walk from holborn station) and ask them you need print and it is HO requirement.

4. Giant CSM - Client service manager (earning management agent) normally doesn't show interest on give you proofs on paper,
so play save ...take prints of all payslips, dividend vochers, tax analysis, invoices, from your portal and get them stamps and sign from them....

Thanks for your reply. I will apply as an independent contractor then.
I managed to get the P45 from Giant. Hope the home office considers the P45. I do not work for Giant anymore but during the period for which I am claiming past earning, I was working for Giant.

ok then you and me in same situation ,
i worked for gaint .. now working as salaried employee..

so u can surely get your p60 from your current employer.. ask your employer to give u the p60.. becasue p60 is more considerable by HO..
