90 Days Concession Period

Post by mkazimhyobo » Wed Jan 01, 2014 8:17 am

I have a question about 90 days concession period (The difference between stamping the visa and entering in UK)

Does this provision applied to all applicants toward counting their 5 years continuous stay or it is counted only for those applicants whose current leave to remain expires before their 5 years stay and by adding this 90 days concession can help them achieve their 5 years count.

Thanks

The 5 year period begins from the day you first entered UK!! Already they are clamping down on migration. If they start giving discounts and concessions there will be no Council houses left .

The 5 year period may start before you enter the UK, depending on the date you received entry clearance and you actually entering, so far as this does not exceed 90 days.

Dear Amber,

Does it not mean that the need to be present in UK 5 years (3Years)before applying for BC will go for a toss or the concession really gets negated at the last leg of the journey when a person is forced to wait the period he effectively spent outside uk before landing up, before he applies for naturalisation???(A recoverable concession similar to a recoverable tax scenario then!! :) )
cheers

That wouldn't be applicable for naturalisation as for PBS the applicant would be waiting 12 months post ILR thus would have been resident more than 5 years.
