One quick query - AN application

Hi There Seniors/experts,

One quick query

I was driving my wifes car and got a fine ( 30 pound ) fixed penalty for driving my car on a bus lane. ( exactly 3 yrs ago )

The fine was sent to my wife given she was the owner and we paid it off immediately. no court or police involved

my wife is making AN application next week, so do we have to declare this fine on the application?. ( it was me driving not my wife but how would they know it was me driving )

It says on the form do you have any civil judgement or civil penalty against you

I'm assuming from what you've told us that this would have been a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN). There is no need to declare PCNs unless the matter escalates to a court case due to non-payment.

This is a common mistake amongst Indian Expats. They think if their spouse has a car and insurance automatically they can drive it, when they are not included in the policy to drive that vehicle.

You are lucky to get off lightly with a FPN that too the wife had to cop it. If stopped it could have easily gone to court for driving without valid Insurance and anything the Coppers wanted to add on.

..but OP never said he was driving without insurance or his name was not included in the policy. His wife, as a registered keeper, received the FPN doesn't necessarily mean the driver was not insured.
you should not assume and be judgemental with any particular group.

VR, you have totally got it wrong. I have full license for the last 13 yrs and driving with valid insurance. We both have cars on our own

It was just one day I took her car for wash and I was caught on a bus lane.
