Hi Williamme, I have exactly the same time line as you and I have still not got a response from the HO either. What number did you call the home office on. and was there an option e.g option 2, to speak to Nationality team etc?Williamme wrote:Hi Everyone.
I applied for naturalization on the 21 Oct through NCS and the application fee was taken on the 22 Nov. I phoned Home Office this afternoon to check the progress, and they person on the phone told me I will be contacted by Home Office shortly.
I tried to ask him what that means, however, he wouldn't explain further.
Could anyone tell me does this mean I will get the decision letter shortly, or it could be something else?
Thanks in advance.
Hear, hear!london90210 wrote:There really isn't any point in people contacting the HO to chase things when it has only been a few months. There was obviously a huge backlog of applications submitted before the change in rules hence things will move more slowly.
Chasing when its clear you aren't any different to other people just causes more work for the helpline staff who won't be able to tell you anything useful. And less helpline staff would mean more caseworkers could be hired who actually do the work.
Agree, also it's clear from many examples that Call Center/Helpline does not have *live* data about status of application, so their advice is not really *latest. I personally think that data in helpline system gets updated say once a month/fortnight.. so no point in bugging them..jotter wrote:Hear, hear!london90210 wrote:There really isn't any point in people contacting the HO to chase things when it has only been a few months. A major reason various people are collating results in this forum is to give posters a picture of whether their situation is normal. If you can see that other people who applied some time after you have gotten approval, or if you have some very urgent reason (e.g. employment/essential travel) then by all means contact the helpline, but if you can clearly see from this forum that the HO is not up to the date that you applied and you do not have a critically urgent reason for needing a decision, then please do not waste the time that the HO could otherwise be spending on working on applications. It's part of being considerate of others who are also waiting.
Hi Pollandcalling1, there quite a few of us with similar time lines to your's that have not received any decisions on our applications yet.polandcalling1 wrote:To Williame and Scanner
My wife AN and child MN! too applied on 21st October (self post) and letter received by HO on 22nd October but so far no approval yet. Money debited on 24th November n acknowledgement letter received on 26th November (dated 24th Nov). I have not phoned HO yet and this waiting time is excruciating!
Hi Real34, I believe it will be good news. Cheer up. .Real34 wrote:Bugger real nervous this morning
I submitted my application by post along with a special delivery envelop for return of documents.
Just checked Royal Mail Track and trace and it says it was collected yesterday evening from the Warrington Office and is now at my Local post office
Very nervous
