ILR 10 Year Basis, Possibility of Varying Application

Hi,

I have a query and hope someone will help me.

If I apply for ILR on 10 year basis, and if the decision take longer than expected, then

Would I be able to vary ILR application with Tier2 Extension before expiry of my current Tier2 visa?
