Tier 1 Entrepreneur (PSW route) - Job Code

Hi Guys,

I am currently holding a Tier 1 PSW Visa and plan to switch to Tier 1 (Entrepreneur) in February before my visa expires. I have difficulties in finding the job code to match my main business activity.

By way of introduction, I have a MA in Childhood in Society from the University of Warwick. I have over 2 year experience working as an education consultant/agent to recruit international students for our partner universities and colleges in the UK. The services which my company provide are mainly focused on:

- Provide free consultation to assess client's education background and to understand their study goals
- Draw up a Study Plan in accordance with client’s current grades and goals
- Give options for universities, course information, entry requirements, document checklist, application timescale and service fee
- Help clients with their application preparation and submission
- Liaise with the universities/institution(s) to track client’s application(s) and provide further information/documents when necessary
- Keep client(s) updated on application progress on a regular basis and adjust the study plan when necessary.

I read through all the NQF Level 4 and 6 Job codes and found the following that might be relevant to my case:

2319 Education Consultant (Teaching and other educational professionals not elsewhere classified).

- '2319 Education consultant' seems to be more relevant to my background in education. But I am unsure whether it is the ideal code for me as I cannot find any relevant task examples in relation to the work I do in this category.

2424 Project Manager (Business and financial project management professionals)

- 2424 Project Manager reflects the exact work activities which I do in everyday life. However, my only concern would be it is in relation to Business and financial project management professionals.

hmm..

before choosing a right SOC you should know:
a SOC is determined by the services a company provides to its clients, in your case it is consultancy on education.
you list things that you involve yourself in are your services to your company and is called administrating a business.

you need to find out 1st if working as an educational consultant or anything you involve yourself in, which goes directly out to clients(within business) is classed as level 4 or above.

I read all the codes in relation to consultant, education, sales, advisor, counsellor.... but I am afraid I couldn't find a code which would match my main business activities ...
