Former British citizen (renounced BC) applying for PR

Hi all

I've got a hypothetical question: If a British/Irish citizen renounced British citizenship and remained in the UK on his Irish citizenship, would it be possible for him to apply under the EEA Regulations (Free Movement) for PR after being in the UK for 5 years?

I know it is possible to ask to reclaim British citizenship once after renunciation. That is not what I am talking about here.

I know that this is a 'weird' question, but I would like to see how UKBA would react.
