EU 1 - Has anyone got a response in the last 4 weeks?

We got an approval letter today in mail.

Would you be able to tell us more please.

If I remember correctly you didn't live with your husband before in another state, as you were living here already. Is that correct?

Yes.
We did NOT live in another state before. I lived here when I met him, and he moved here then ...
I'm too lazy to copy the whole thing but of main interest :

"Your application has been examined under the provisions of the European Communities (Free Movement of Persons) Regulations 2006. I wish to inform you that your application has been approved as you fulfil the relevant conditions set out in the above Regulations."

"In order to obtain the Residence Card of a family member of a Union Citizen (Certificate of Registration 4EUFam) you and the EU citize (name..) must report to your local registration officer located at (address..). You and hte EU citizen must both bring documentary evidence of nationality and identity to satisfy the Immigration Officer of same. Your passport will also be edorsed with the appropriate ermission ot remain which will be valid for a five year period."

So why are the Regulations different from person to person or country to country?? And they still took 11 months .. keeping fingers crossed that Solvit can solv-it for 5 months of lost income ..

did u get married before may 2006???? because the new stupid law of residing in another eu state was imposed in may 2006 and all cases before that are waived from this requirement. couple of my friends got their residency because they got married before the law!!

yes limey, thats right!!

all marriages after may 2006 have to comply with eu residency rule to get their EU1 application approved and the marriages before that are not to comply with this rule.

I am not sure about the Prior may 2006 marriage thing...the article says she applied for residency in April2006,so they must have been married before that.

2 of my friends got their residency recently because of their marriages took place before may 2006. one of them submited the application just after mine, he's got approval a month ago and im still waiting......

i think these eegits are taking bribe or somthing, i have to say that because all cases through one particular lawyer get approval no matter couples resided in EU state before or not!!!!

What nationalities were your friends?
How long had they been married?
How long had they been in Ireland (if at all)?

Also, it could be that the longer you are married the greater the chances of success!

I don't really agree with the preMay2006 argument.Someone I know who has been denied has been married for 16 years with more that 1 kid

I got married in 2005 and I got my denie...The wedding was in Argentina, perhaps that has something to do....

We got married in Feb/2005 in Wicklow and my wife was denied.

there has to be something differentiating our cases from the ones got approvals!!!!

the only difference i see is, all the approval ones went through a particular solicitor......most of the cases through that solicitor approved already and the rest are in pending......even one of my friend submited his case after mine but he hired that solicitor and i didnt now he's got approval and im still waiting......

im gona contact the solicitor fairly soon, been waiting for 9 months!!!!

Hi everyone.... I send my EU3 with all relevant documents on 6th of January & still no reply from DOJ.... Anybody send their EU1 or EU3 around same time & got any reply back from DOJ? Will be nice to see some feedback back from the people who applied around same time...

Hi. We submitted EU1 application on 9 Jan through a solicitor. Still no reply from DOJ. This is our fourth week. Hopefully we will get a positive reply this week.
