ILR for dependent(Degree Certficate Problem)

Post by chandu_246 » Fri Jan 17, 2014 11:18 pm

Hi All,

This has been great forum for getting clarification on Immigration queries.

I am planning to apply for ILR through PEO in May 2014.My wife's First name is incorrect in her Degree certificate and her surname is different as well as she completed her degree before marriage. Her passport has correct name but because she applied for it after marriage it has different surname. So Passport holds correct name and degree certificate doesn't.

My queries:

1.If my wife apply for Naric English langauge assessment, she would get the certificate with wrong name?Would it be a problem for ILR?

2.When the Degree certificate is shown to Case worker in PEO, would her ILR go for rejection, because of this?

Is this a problem and if it is, is there any solution to address this problem?

Regards,
Chandra

Could some body please reply to this? Even if you could point me to similar discussion in the forum, it would be great.

Thanks,
Chandra

For change of surname, perhaps you could provide a marriage certificate to show why her surname changed from maiden name to your surname. As for the incorrect first name, can you provide more information on why the first name is incorrect? For instance, has your wife changed names previously or has she been known by several names in the past?

Hi ScopeD,

Thanks for your reply and looking into this.

My wife is not known by several names in past. The problem is her First name was printed incorrectly(Instead of 'SWETA', her first name was printed in Certificate as 'SWEETA') in her degree certificate and she did make some efforts to get it corrected few years back but couldn't get the name corrected.

Now I need to address this problem desperately for ILR.

Chandra

Hi Moderators,

Do I need to get affidavit from Solicitor? My wife's name in the passport is correct.

It would be great, if you could reply to my query.

Chandra
