Certificate of Registration Incorrect

Post by unsure » Fri Jan 17, 2014 8:30 pm

Hello

I am unsure if this is a problem or not and would greatly appreciate if anyone could advise please.

I was born here in the UK but to foreign parents. I have a Birth cerrtificate which was issued when i was born obviously and a Certificate of Registration which was issued to me back in 1995. I was 11 years old then. I also have British passport. Two renewed ones.

The ''Problem'' is...I only just realised that my name on the certificate of Registration is spelled slightly incorrect. The E should be an I and there is a Dash in my surname in which the certificate of Registration does not show this.

Furthermore...my very first UK passport which was issued to me back in 1997 my name is spelled as it is on the certificate of Registration. Yet my two renewed Passports is spelled correctly as it is on my Birth Certificate.

I sent a letter to the UKBA in Liverpool along with my original birth certificate and a copy of my current passport and requesting them to correct my certificate of registration.

I am concerned there will be a problem with this because there is a slight contradiction of my name spelling in my renewed passports and the Certifcate of Registration.

Fuurthermore....my middle name, which is in my Birth certificate and the incorrect Certificate of Registration is not included in any of my passports. I dont remember including that in my passport renewal applications.

Will this be a problem for me? I am worried the Home Office will revoke my passport or something and I will become stateless????? Despite the fact I was born here and lived here my whole life.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for reading.

I had one of my friends who had to make correction to his daughter's cert and that went pretty quick, but I've to mention that it was during the pretty quick era, Oct 2012 :D
