EEA2 Application - Supporting Documents Check

Post by dsab85 » Tue Jul 03, 2007 1:40 pm

Hello together,

we are currently in the process of moving from Ireland to the UK and just finished filling in the EEA1 and EEA2 forms. We will send them together, as we understand that there is a chance that it will speed up the process. We are married for a year and been living in Ireland since then.

The following is a list of the documents that we intend to send to support the application. Could you have a quick look over it and check if anything is missing, or maybe excessive?

- both original passports
- marriage certificate
- letter explaining our situation and how we met and got married
- letter from employer confirming my employment, employment start, annual salary and private health insurance for me and my wife
- last 3 payslips
- copy of UK lease
- photos from our wedding, previous vacations (London, Paris, HK, Germany) and photo of her master graduation, which I attended
- example of our official wedding Invitation
- 2 sets of Irish Household Bills in her and my name, proving previous residency in Ireland

Any input welcome.

Regards,
dsab85

The required documents are specified on the form(EEA1&2).
I am sure you have all that is required.

DSA: The British government have been asking for all the documents you specified even though it is against the EEA/EU Family Permit rules. The correct EEA/EU Family Permit rules are as follows:-

Quote:-

Documents that can be required when applying for the visa
The right of entry of your third country family members is derived
from their family ties with you, a Union citizen. All the Member
State consular officials can ask for is their passport and a
document establishing their family ties with you, such as
marriage or birth certificate and proof of dependence, where
applicable. Your family members cannot be asked to present
documents such as travel tickets, employment certificate, pay slips,
bank statements, proof of accommodation and means of
subsistence or a medical certificate.8

Passport with visa?
Your family members cannot be automatically turned back at the
borders if they do not have a valid passport or, if required, an entry
visa, when they are able to prove by any other means that they are
covered by the right of free movement and residence by establishing
their identity and family ties with you.

dsab85, add a few bank statements and an official letter stating that your accommodation will not be overcrowded to the pile of evidence that you will be submitting, and even a Settlement Visa application stands a good chance of succeeding.

Unless you enjoy worrying, I suggest you give it a break and just chill!

DSA: Just to add that the British Embassy in China also states that all the documents you originally quoted be provided for Family Permit spouse applications.

Though, some of these documents will be required to prove the EU citizens status and not the Non-EU spouses.

Also, there is no requirement for the couple to have lived in another EU country as the Irish are insisting on. That is also in breach of the rules!

But back in the real World....
PS: If you have details of any savings then that would be useful as you can still move to another EU country as a self-sufficient person. (ie. You don't have to be working)

Thanks for the updates, guys. I just wanted to make everything watertight. I have had enough trouble in Ireland, and don't want the same to happen in the UK.

Just once I want everything to run smooth, and get on with our lives asap. :D
