MN1(3) UK Born baby References

Post by chiru09 » Sun Feb 09, 2014 12:00 am

Hi,

I have a 3 months old son who is born in UK . Myself and my wife recently got ILR hence planning to register my son as British. As per the form I got one reference from my friend who is British, but I am struggling to find second reference who is either health visitor, GP or solicitor or teacher. My reasons are as below

Health visitor / GP : I have already spoken to them , they are denying to be referree even though my son is registered with them. They are saying they dont sign as its not their process and guided me to solicitor.

Solicitor : I have already met all the solicitors in my area. Every one is saying that I need to be known to them (as registered) personally as a client for the past 2 years. Yes I havent registered with any solicitor as i didnt had any necessity of solicitor . I didnt had any legal issues to get registered with them.

Teacher
: This is option is ruled out as my son is only 3 months old.

Please suggest what should I do for second reference, how should i progress now ? Can I still get the second reference with another friend who is British ? Will there be any risk my son's MN1 application if I do this way ?

Any professional will do, it doesn't matter how long they have known you/the child they won't be that bothered for a young child applying under section 1(3). I assume neither of you had ILR when the child was born.

We used the preacher(minster of religion) at our religious place as second reference.

Hi Sorry for hijacking your post.

I have same issue. Our GP has also declined to sign for reference. My baby is 1 years ols so no school teacher. I am going to the health visitor this friday and hope they will sign it. If not, can I get one of my work coleague to sign the form.
