EC from Country of Residence

Post by oz hsmp » Sat Jul 07, 2007 4:20 am

My nationality is Indian carrying ONLY Indian Passport, but I have recently acquired Permanent Residency of Australia (Resident).

Can I apply for EC after HSMP approval from Australia?

HSMP: Guidance for applicants states:

Page 10, Paragraph 63

The EC application must be submitted to BHC in either your country of origin or country of residence. You will not normally be allowed to submit an application for entry clearance in a country where you are based as a visitor or other temporary basis.
Applicants with similar situation, please advise.

A quick call to British High Commission/ VFS will give you a credible answer. Although, it appears frrom the guidelines that you can apply from Australia.

Not sure. Citizens or even residents can apply for EC at local BHC.

I hope that I do not have to apply from India.

It is such a tedious process from India. IntegraScreen, etc.
