EEA Family Permit

Post by mars.millar » Fri Feb 14, 2014 5:35 am

I am a Polish citizen (EEA national). Currently working in US and holds a green card status. I am planning to go to the Philippines to marry my Filipina after that we will apply for EEA family permit and travel to UK together. So she will be my spouse (non eea national). I haven't worked in any Europian countries before because I have been working for years in US. Now, we are deciding to move to UK. As what I have read she's allowed to stay there 3 months with me (under EEA family permit) after that 3 months I am expected to exercise my treaty rights as working,be self-sufficient or be a student, then I can apply for the residence card for your spouse.

How true or valid is this statement that she will be granted EEA family permit even at first I havent worked in UK, and haven't stayed there yet. And we need only this documents:
-Her passport ( non EEA national)
-My passport ( EEA national)
-Mariage certificate
-Lettter from the EEA national

Anybody who has an idea of this process, we greatly appreciate it. It hard for us to be apart because we love each other so much. We can't afford to pay immigration lawyer because we saving money for travel and other expenses.

Do you not want to get US citizenship first?
