Which Option is best

Post by xrootx » Wed Feb 19, 2014 12:51 pm

Hi,
I came to UK sep 2004 on student visa , in sep 2014 I will complete my 10 years. Then I will be eligible to apply for ILR on long term residency.
In feb 2010 I got T1 General for 3 years and then I got extension for another 2 years in Jan 2013. I will complete my 5 years and will be eligible for ILR in Jan-Feb 2015.

Which option I should go for , personally I would like to go on T1 5 years basis as I can go in person and get same day service. If I go on long term residency then I will have to post my application with waiting time 6 months approx. Apart from the waiting time do you guys think I should consider any other thing before going for one of these option ?

Thanks

If you dont have travel plans and not thinking of changing your job than i would say go for Long residence route as there is less documentation required.

In your case LTR and PBS route via PEO is coming almost on same time . My vote is for PBS provided you meet all requirements cleanly.

You also need to consider and ensure that you satisfy Immigration Rules under;
Paragraph 245CD (click) if taking Tier 1 Route
Paragraph 276B (click) if taking Long Residence Route.
