UK Born Child with Tier 1 Dependent Visa Expiring

Post by mramay » Thu Feb 20, 2014 2:24 pm

Hi,

I have question about my 2 years old who born inside UK but I have to apply for her Visa as we need to travel outside UK at that time. Her visa is expiring on 30th May, 2014. I am going for ILR in Oct, 2014.

I understand that UK born children don't need visa unless they need to travel outside UK. We don't have any abroad travelling plans this year. Do I have to apply visa extension for her? If I don't do that does that mean she will be staying illegally?

I am totally confused.

Many Thanks and Regards

uk born child will not be illegal.

after you get ILR, you can register the child as british citizen on form MN1 under section 1(3) which is an entitlement

That may be a misconception.
