I'm currently out of the country and hope to be back by Easter time...I've tried to call the UKBA on 01516725626 from abroad but they seem not to have any option that can put you through to someone. All options are set to default...'please send us email for update on your application'.
Does anyone know of any other number I could use to reach them.

I do understand that it might have gone back to the queue. But the fee was taken out on the 27th Jan. I wonder why it takes them more than 1 month to allocate it to a caseworker (still not allocated) when they have already allocated the January applications for whom the fee was taken on/after after 27th Jan to caseworkers and some of them have received approvals as well. . Don't think that causes the delay. Just going through the January timelines, people who had their fees taken around 24 Jan received their approvals on 22nd Feb. I am sure yours is around the corner. Take it easy!
FYI....Today I got a response back from Nationality helpdesk that all the checks/enquiries are done by the case worker. So this is first step once the fee is taken. So I believe still a long way to go.amity010 wrote:Hi All

Does the case worker do all the statutory enquiries before they make a decision (ie the first step after the fee is taken) ?
Or does the case worker just receives all the results of the enquiries made, and based on the results they make a decision (last step finalizing the application) ?

Your application is currently with a caseworker......she then asked me 'have you received any documentation from us...my response 'no, apart from the acknowledgement letter......her next question...'what is your address'.....I responded as per the question and then she did a few more check and got back to me saying.......'your application is nearing completion, you should here from us shortly .
She was not precise on how much longer I could wait but I'm assuming shortly means a couple of weeks.

Latest update is that application is still awaiting casworker allocation.
