Hi Guys,

Really need an advise from you lot.

I have applied for my Spouse Settlement visa in Oct13 till now I haven't heard any update all I can view Application is under processing.Recently I have moved to a different place , would it be better to update the address with BHC in India as I don't have any issues with the application address it's a family home . Could any one of you kindly suggest me & also if possible please provide me a link to contact.

I think my wife will get her visa by valentines day.. i feel confident..it will be 40 working days soon.
i feel that we submitted a well organised application file...so it should be quicker for us.
why are you people waiting since about 50 working days or more etc...?
Is your application pure spousal ....ie the spouse of a well settled British partner ?

or are you a recently turned British person sponsoring your Indian partner ?
Is it quicker if the sponsor is a well settled Brit ?

did you have any queries on your application ?
they do a background check that may take longer for some people?

IS THIS CORRECT ???? PLEASE CHECK if this is what happens with you ? and please report here..
you submit your application for visa and The visa center sends you MANUAL email to acknowledge its receipt
then you get another MANUAL email when they open your file to start processing.
.........................
then you get your LAST AND FINAL EMAIL

IF THAT FINAL EMAIL IS AUTOMATED one and not manual
then the decision is you have been successful

if that email is MANUAL then its a fail....
below is an example of a successful AUTOMATED email

Your UK visa application has now been processed and a decision has been made.

Your passport and documents will be dispatched from the xxxxxx office and will be returned to you via VFS. For further information on when your passport will be ready for collection please use the passport tracker service on the VFS website at

Could any one of you confirm me what's the best way to contact Chennai BHC for an update please. We have tried contacting VFS they have no clue all they said was it's under processing . I have applied for Spouse settlement visa for my wife in OCT-2013 still it's showing as under processing . I am bit concerned about the process / update .

All....this is my wifes spouse visa time line...and yes it only took 8 DAYS in total to get SPOUSE Visa!!! To be honest we just could not believe it!!!!!

A bit of background: Im a British Citizen and went india to get married in 2013 (wife is indian)...soon after our marriage we logged my wifes FIRST spouse visa application...UKBA made us wait the full 90 days before refusing the application on stupid stupid grounds! So I logged an appeal....after another 2 months they gave us an appeal date for JULY 2014!

At that stage we just could not wait for that long...so decided to start the whole application process again...but this time making sure that the application was water tight...and to be honest this time round the application pack with the supporting documents was 3 inches thick!

My wife logged it at the Ahmedabad VSF centre...and just over a week later...she got the email from UKBA that a decision has been made and asked her to collect her documents and passport from her chosen blue dart office.

One word of advice: NEVER USE MALIK LAW CHAMBERS to handle your case unless you want to keep on getting refusals and keep on paying MALIK LAW CHAMBERS huge amounts of money!!!!

Please confirm me what's the best way to find out Progress of an Application via vfs or BHC? my wife's application was submitted at vfs-Hyderabad in October 2013. It's already more than four months since we applied still under processing according to on-line status update. If any one wants to suggest anything on this please do so.

Dude don't bother with VFS they are useless....best option is to contact BHC directly on the following email address:

uktihyderabad@fco.gov.uk

As your 90 days are up...you are fully entitled to chase them up about why its taking so long for a decision.

Make sure that you include the application number and the passport number in the email header....otherwise they will not reply back to you.

we got it all done in total 40 working days ....total.. from beginning to end.

Yesterday my wife contacted Deputy High Commission - the link you have provide in your reply. But didn't had much help from them all they said was need to ring back vfs line. They are the Department for TRADE/Investment & other business link from India -UK .

As we tried before calling to vfs all they say is under processing ..

Any other suggestions please let me know.

Submitted my spouse visa that is being processed in Chennai. They have confirmed that they received the application on 02nd January 2015 , it is 37 working days for today, no news. !!!

I have submitted on 12 Jan 2015 and its still under process....

It seems Chennai got a long delays....
