Urgent: Entry clearance - Internal Transfer

Post by hsmp2006 » Thu Nov 09, 2006 1:07 pm

All

I am planning to take an internal transfer to our UK subsidiary. To this effect, I have a valid offer letter from our MNC's UK office. Would be enclosing this offer letter along with other EC documents be good (or) it will unnecessarily confuse the situation.

Further I will get relocation expenses reimbursed for travel and transportation costs. This is mentioned in offer letter. Company would also provide temporary accomodation for 4 weeks. However, accommodation info. is not mentioned in offer letter.

Do I need to submit some other proof for accommodation?

Thanks in Advance,
Amjad.

You have posted this message in the HSMP of this Board. So have you already got HSMP approval, and now you will be applying for your EC, or have you still to apply for HSMP approval?

Or have you simply posted your message in the wrong section of the Board?

OK, you will appreciate that part of what you need to do is pass a financial test, that is, to show that you will not need to claim certain Public Funds. Having a job to go to can only help you to pass that test, so yes, do give details of that job when applying for your EC.

Accommodation? You also need to show that you will have accommodation to go to. Try to get something from your employer. If that fails then book a hotel, on a cancellable basis, and supply the printout from that online booking when applying for the EC. If later the employer does confirm details of the accommodation to be provided, cancel the online booking.

Great - Thanks a ton John.

Also, I've got an invitation letter from my friend staying in London. He mentioned that I can stay with him when I relocate to UK. In addition I've also got his rental agreement. Both these documents are scanned copies sent in e-mail.

However, my job location is Belfast. Will the proof of accommodation in London be good enough? If not, can I submit faxed copy of accommodation letter from my employer.

If none of above will work, as you recommended, I can book into some hotel and cancel it later on.

Kindly respond.

Thanks,

John

Given the distance between London and Belfast I certainly think you need to supply something about accommodation in Northern Ireland. As you say, either a letter from your employer, or failing that a booking from a hotel.

John

Sorry to bug you again.

Can you confirm if a faxed copy of accommodation letter be enough or I need it in original?

Thanks,
Amjad.

Amjad, I would rather that is answered by those that have made applications for EC in the past. Anyone able to help here?

Hi John

Wanted to be as safe as possible:

I've booked hotel accommodation for a week in Belfast. Shall attach printouts of the booking confirmation with my application.

For everyones info:
http://activehotels.com gives you one of the best bargains to book hotel rooms.

Cheers,
Amjad.
