Post by nachiket111 » Thu Mar 14, 2013 11:06 am

Hi

I just received a call from UKBA regarding strike on 20th March. Did anyone else receive similar calls?

I haven't

Why would they now have the courtesy to call everyone letting know that they're going on strike? That's an outstanding service, I'd say. Not typical of them

I had an appointment for SET(o) on 20th March. Received a call today and managed to rebook my appointment with them. That is quite strange to be honest.

I was just wondering if they were cancelling all appointments on the day or it is just my bad luck :)

If they are on strike on the 20th March, only that day's appointments would be affected.

20th march 2013

I have the same problem no one rang me, my appointment is in Sheffield on the 20th..I received a message yesterday morning reminding me of my appointment ...in the evening I received an email, stating the following

"This is to inform you of the possibility of industrial action on 20 March 2013.

If this planned industrial action goes ahead you are advised that there will be a restricted service which may mean that you do not get your decision on the same day.

If you would like to attend on an alternative day please cancel your appointment and re-book for another day.""

Can you please let me know where was your appointment? And when did they reschedule it for, my visa ends on the 17th of April...

Seniors please advice, I am thinking to just go and take the risk, I don't mind if they don't give me the outcomes on the day...

Please please let me know.

Thanks

If you are not fussed about the same day decision, then go ahead. For those it matters, Will be better if you reschedule your appt. as surely decision won't be made on the same day

Thank you for your advice, I know that nothing can be assured but I this makes me relaxed to know someone else think I can go...I will travel early int he morning to make it before the appointment which is at 1.30.. I hope they let me get in early..

Thank you again for responding
