HMSP Earning calculation

Post by REENANARESH » Tue Feb 27, 2007 1:19 pm

Dear All,

I am qualified chartered accountant and working in UK on HSMP visa my extension is due next year , i have opened a limited company in UK and my expected gross earning from limited company is around 32K

My question is out of 32K if i claim 10K as business expenses and pay 12K as salary to myself and again balance 10K as dividend to my self after corporation tax....as i am sole director of the company, would i be able to claim points based on my gross earning or + salary from company as employee...+ Dividend (100% holding of the same company form the same company which pay's me salary)

My question is, to claim earning based points in new HSMP extension system do i need to have gross earning of 32K or they would considered 12 K ( Salary from company as employee) and 10K ( as dividend as i have 100% shareholding)
Please advice if someone is working as limited company in UK or have some idea ?

Many thanks

Dividends not considered?? And who said that...?

Home office wants to know your source of income in the UK. Dividends through limited company are considered. My company contractorsinuk help people like yourselves with HSMP extension.... We have had more than 15 cases done in last couple of months and so far no failures...

Please drop me an email on info@contractorsinuk.co.uk if you need to discuss.

dividends can be counted, provided you have all the right documentation.
but not expenses.... they are not income!
so you could claim 22K with what you are proposing
