change name before apply for 1st adult passport

hi all, I change my name 2 years ago by deep pool, but I never used it, and I just got my citizenship cert with my old name on it.

My question is, when I am applying the fist adult passport, can I just start to use the new name, and supply the deep pool documentation to the IPS?
