ILR Granted on 13/12/2013 - PEO in Croydon

Post by shivcs » Mon Dec 16, 2013 11:09 am

Hi,

I had applied for ILR along with my wife on 13/12/2013 at Croydon PEO and it was granted.

However the old BRP card wasn't handed back to us. At that moment I thought the reason could be that they will be sending the new BRP card and as such the old card would become irrelevant so didn't ask the case worker who handed over the passport and other documents back.

Is it a usual for UKBA not to hand back the old BRP card?

I ask this as I was going through the requirements for British Citizenship (or Naturalisation: URL - http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/briti ... documents/) and one of those is -

If you used one of these documents to prove your identity when you took the 'knowledge of life in the UK' test, you should supply the same document to support your naturalization application.

- we both used BRP card as an identity proof while taking LIUK test.
Could we use the new BRP card to satisfy this requirement?[/b]
