English requirement for naturalization

Post by smkengr » Wed Jan 22, 2014 5:53 pm

I got British nationality in Sep 2013. My wife got ILR on 17th April 2013 on 2 years stay as Tier1 dependent.
She passed Life in UK Test prior to getting ILR in 2013. She had IELTS (General) but expired as she passed in 2010 and got 7.5 bands. She passed IELTS (Academic) in 2012 and had 8 band score but I think it is expired as well considering IELTS validity for 2 years.

My questions are below

1. Will she has to provide both LifeInUKTest certificate and English certificate? as I didn't provide any English certificate with my naturalization's application.
2. Will above tests are sufficient to qualify or she will have to pass another test?

Please suggest.

Many thanks.

Sam

1. Yes. She needs to meet the requirements at the time she applies. Not the requirements you had.
2. An expired test can be used for naturalisation.
