Hello, I am a Ghanaian National and I have been in the UK physically from 1998-2011 continuously. I wish to apply for an ILR however a dilemma lies in the fact that when I first arrived in 1998 it was on a visitors visa. My father was on a diplomatic passport and my mother had multiple entry visa's so it was an oversight on her part for not getting me a student visa.
In august 2002 I obtained a student visa and have been on it up until august 2011. I had to return to Ghana to seek funding for my degree course.
The question is will I be able to combine my years spent in England on a visitor visa with my student visa years in order to constitute the 10 years or not?
Thank you
