10-year residence rule

Post by barakuda » Fri Aug 20, 2004 5:15 pm

Hi,

Does anyone know if the home office (ever) makes any concessions to the 10-year residence rule? I'm from Russia and i've been a student in the UK for 6 years now (I don't have any family ties here). Is there any way i can apply for permanent residency?

Many thanks in advance for any advice.

A.

Unless you are a billionaire (Roman Abramovitch...) you have no chance.

Unfortunately not... :(

For some reason i thought the home office sometimes makes concessions for certain reasons whatever they may be (i think i've read about this on their website)..

Would be interesting to know though whether anyone was lucky to get residence with less than 10 years. If you were (or may be know someone else who was) pls post your experience.

Cheers,

B.
