HSMP Earnings

Post by Mat_1 » Sun May 27, 2007 1:03 am

If any one is able to answer my questions that would be great. I am collating the evidence for HSMP and I am having anxiety attacks about having it rejected for a simple oversight.

1) I am in australia. We have compulsory employer contributions of superannuation. this is included in our total salary package, but listed separately to "salary". Should I include this amount of Superannuation in my previous earnings section. It does appear on my pay slips which I am able to provide.

2) Drivers license - I am unable to provide this as I must carry it with me when driving. Does a notaried copy of passport mean a copies endorsed by a Justice of the Peace?? Do I need to include a drivers license if I already have my Birth certificate? The checklist in the application package suggests so. But the main text says otherwise. Confusing.

3) I have a letter from employer, every pay slip for the 12 months. I have a tax return (employer group certificate) for the first 2 months of that period as it was a different financial year, but I will not receive my next tax documents (remaining 10 months) in time to send my application when I need to. Is this a valid reason to not submit the tax return?

If someone canplease help that would ease a lot of stress for me.

thank you

Hi,

1) Any earnings included in salary slips (and taxed) are eligible to be considered. So applying this yardstick, it appears that this can be included in earnings.

2) You do not need to submit driving license if you are giving a birth certificate. It is primarily as proof of age.

3) My advice would be to submit whatever latest Income tax slip you have and explain this in the space in the application, also support it with bank statements showing net pay credited to your account. The net pay should corroborate with payslip information.

hope it helps!

good luck!

please avoid any amount that is not in your pay slips...teh guidance documetns clearly states it...

30. We will not be able to consider any
allowances paid to you that are not declared on
your pay slips. If the company you work for pay
part of your income in dividends then you should
provide evidence that this has been declared as
earnings (see Glossary). This should be in the
form of either personal tax returns or the
corporate tax voucher from the company.

for teh tax return...submit what ever return u have..for the rest of the perdiod..get a certificate from yr company on an official letter head the amount of tax yr company has paid on yr behalf..also include the bank statement where yr salary is deposited and highlight each mnths salary...
including a cover letter greatly helps a case worker understand

u can have a look at the documents i submitted
