Spouse visa-change of sponor's address

Post by mussa » Sat Jun 09, 2007 9:22 pm

hi there,
i have a couple of questions which i would really appreciate if you could answer.

I got married begining april 07 to an afgani national, i am a british myself. we handed in my wife's application in mid May but we've yet to hear from the british embassy about the progress of application.

i am moving out of my current address at the end june to a 1 bed flat.(currently i share the house with three other housemates but the tenancy agreement is in my name), the landlady at the time of application only wrote a letter confiriming my tenancy but didnt mention anything about whether there will be any problems when my wife join which slightly concerns me. anyway, i m moving out end of the month, Now, my question is do i need to inform the embassy about the change of address, new tenancy agreement and so forth? or should i leave as it is as hoping by the time i move out my wife's application will be dealt with.
when we made the application we included the following documents:
1.marriage certificate certified and translated by foriegn ministry of afghanistan.
2. certified copies of my passport
3.wedding photos
4. 6 mons. bank statements as well as savings statement
5.evidence of contact; email print outs, phone statements
6. tenancy agreement
7.lnspection report from an independent surveyer of the property
8. proof of money transfer before we got married
9. her educational certificates, CV and print out job searches.
10. my mobile contract statement
having seen the list of documents above, do you think that the application will be successful despite my doubts over my landlady's letter not mentioning 'no objection when my wife joins me?

i look forward to hearing your responses in this matter

many thanks[/b]

Can you clarify, which British Mission was the application handed into? And where did you get married?

As regards the change of address, and indeed change of accommodation details pertinent to the visa application, yes I think you should notify the new address and supply details relevant to the new address, such as new tenancy agreement. Probably best to fax those details.

thanks John,
we got married in afghanistan and we made our application at the BHC islamabad as there is no visa issuing BH in Afghanistan.
what do you think of the chances of her visa being successful given the list of documents i mentioned in my previous post?
i can provide a tenancy agreement from my new address but would that be sufficient?
