Evidence of "reason to return" to home country

Other than immovable assets (property) and employment/income from employment, what other things can be used to prove that a person will return to his country after expiry of his leave to enter / visa.

My in-laws are planning to come over to UK for a 2 month visit, but they do not have any immovable assets (no property, only a car and liquid assets) and both have no income as both are retired (mom-in-law a housewife, dad-in-law retired from business).
