P60 complication

Post by bpt » Sun May 04, 2014 12:53 am

Dear All,

I would appreciate your help regarding a Tax payment document.
I did not receive my P60 for the year 2010. I was working at 2 places. My wages were deposited into a Company which provides payment solutions. The Company used to withdraw the tax and deposit my net salary into my personal bank ac each month.
When I questioned the accountant regarding why I did not receive the P60, he emailed to say
''We can confirm that as you are operating through the xxx Management LLP, Therefore you are not required to receive a P60, as your income details go directly onto your Tax Return. We have enclosed the relevant partnership page which shows that your taxable income is £xxx and tax suffered on this income is £xxx. ''

I am not sure if I was employed by them, I am very concerned as to how I am to explain this to the visa officer as to why I do not have the P60. I am no longer with the Payment solutions Company so they will not entertain me. I think it is now almost impossible to receive the Employment history before end of this month as HMRC said they are still working on applications sent in mid April and my visa expires end of May. Besides, I am not even sure if I was actually employed by them as it says partnership.

Do you have any suggestions as to what can be done? Your help is much appreciated.

You must have been self-employed in the period concerned, that is why you didn't get a P60

Thank you for your reply,
That is probably correct I might have been self-employed, do you know how I can confirm that?
