ilr and still classified as a refugee

Post by gold64 » Mon Jun 16, 2014 9:23 am

My family and i applied and were granted refugee status with 5years limited leave to remain .when the 5 years expired in October 2011 we applied and were granted indefinite leave to remain . However my status document still has refugee status and those of my wife and children do not. I thought that when one is granted ilr you lose the refugee status. I want to visit Zimbabwe my country of origin but i can not do so using the blue convention travel document which i currently hold. Does anyone know how i can legally visit Zimbabwe and not lose my ilr . My wife has managed to visit Zimbabwe on 2 occasions so far

If you really want to not have any risk then wait for 1 year apply for British Passport (provided you meet residency period rules) and then travel.
