Any benefit of old settlement visas

Post by laddoo » Tue Jun 17, 2014 8:41 pm

My wife had a 2 year settlement visa from 2004-2006 and then an extension to that from 2006-2008. When that ran out, I left it because we were living abroad and were unable to fulfill the residency requirements.

My question is, when we apply for settlement visa now, would it still take 5 years or could we benefit from the old visas in some way get ILR quicker? Any advice would be appreciated.

You'll have to start again unfortunately and take the 5 year route, meeting financial and English language requirements.

Are you in the UK? Technically, SET(M) under Part 8 does not require extant leave.

What is your immigration status?
