Registration for newborn

Post by Shar » Tue Jul 01, 2014 10:10 pm

Hi,

My name is shar. I have my ILR appointment on August 2nd 2014 for same day service.

My son is born in uk on 3rd march 2014 he is not having passport (indian), once I get my ilr in August , can I apply for naturalisation followed by British passport for my son or should I get indian passport first and then apply for naturalisation(we are not intending to travel now).

Can you please advice on this.

Thanks in advance

Shar

As you have no travel plans, after you get your ILR, apply to register him on MN1 under section 1(3) and once you receive the certificate, apply for his passport.

Hi Char
Can you please confirm what do you mean by 1(3). As per MN1 form
PleaseSayifandwhenthechildwasgivenindefiniteleavetoenter/remainintheUK.Ifthechild’sparentisanEEAnational,aSwissnationalorafamilymemberofanEEAorSwissnationalyoushouldensurethattheyqualifyforpermanentresidence.Childhasindefiniteleavetoenter/remainintheUK.Dategranted.

Above requesting the date when child has ILR granted. (child doesn't have ILR, but parent got ILR and child born before parents ILR).
Which date need to be in that 1(3) section??
Kind regards

Please read the question carefully. CR001 is referring to the British Nationality Act 1981.

Hi Vinny
Many thanks for directing me in the right direction. Can you please confirm what I need to fill in MN1 1.3. I couldn't find any information regarding this or I may not be looking at the right thing.
regards

Leave it blank or put N/A.
