Financial Requirement £18600 but confused about children

My friend got ILR now.He has wife and 3 children .He is applying for Wife visa using FLR(M).
All the children BORN in the UK.He will apply for their registration as British soon.
Does he need to show income of £18,600 for wife only OR he has to show additional for each child as well??
someone mentioned to him if children are already in then he don't see to show income for them

please guide and i would appreciate if someone can send me link as well

It depends if the childrens are already in UK then he dont need to show for children, only wife which is 18600

That's not true at all, it depends on the status of the children not whether they're in the UK! If they're not British or settled, they'll increase the Financial requirement.

one more question

For self employed the tax Year is April to April but the deadline is always January next year.
Will home office will take into April to April tax year as last financial year or if someone has submitted tax return on 31st January and paid tax in January ? will he be able to claim income from self employment
