Difficult employer

Post by michaelknight » Tue Jul 15, 2014 7:15 pm

My boss has given me a letter for the registry office that I married in Ukraine, this letter was on headed paper and stated my holiday and I was employed by this company.

I am trying to get my company to give me another letter because the registry office kept that one but they are refusing. My company HR department are stating that my payslips, work contract and the letter is enough and adequate.

I am worried I dont have a sufficient letter from my employer ...

When I submitted my wife's spouse visa I only supplied 6 months pay slips, 6 months bank statements and employment contract which stated everything they needed (my name, when I start work, my annual salary, type of employment)
This was enough when we applied for a fiance visa.

But I quit my job before I got married and started a new one after. So I waited until I started working again to apply (I stopped working for 1 month), then we included 12 months pay slips, 12 months bank statements, employment contract from previous and current employer. (both signed by me and employers)

I'm a little worried that we didn't supply a letter as well, but surely an employment contract signed by the employer is as good as a letter.
Anyway they ask you to include their contact details so they can easily check if you are employed by them.

Anyone else with experience of this?

Her application is on hold for a different reason at the moment (TOEIC certificate supplied)
