Changing job role within same company

Hi guys,

A quick question. If a person has a work permit for a specific position in a company, does his company need to apply for a new workpermit in case the company decides to appoint him at some other position (much senior and better paid) within the same company?

I believe no need to apply for new WP as the company is same just the job functions and roles have changed... Expert pls guide..

wrong.. Work permit is issued for you to do a specific job, even if you get promoted on same work location you will have to apply for new work permit as the job description changes. Its sounds stupid but 100% true as friend of mine was in a same situation and after consulting with many solicitors he found that.
