Claiming CB and Chilt Tax Credit

Post by prince_nw1 » Wed Sep 03, 2014 8:32 pm

Hello, i have a question and maybe someone can answer it.
I am a British citizen and my wife is on her first 2 1/2 year marriage visa with no recourse to public funds.
We are expecting a baby in November, my question is can i apply for CB and CTC and it wont affect her next application for a visa?
i am earning around 20000 per year and she is not working, there is about 1 1/2 years left on her current visa and she has a NI number. Thank you for any response.

Claim child benefit in your name and Child Tax Credits in joint names and your wife won't have a problem with her ILR application.
(Casa, not CR001)
Please don't send me PMs asking for immigration advice on posts that are on the open forum. If I haven't responded there, it's because I don't have the answer. I'm a moderator, not a legal professional.
