NCS says UKBA asking to send original LIUK certficate?

I applied myself using AN a couple of months back using the Croydon NCS and at that time they just sent the photocopy of LIUK certificate and returned the original to me.
My wife applied for naturalization (AN) yesterday using the same NCS and the lady there said that UKBA have asked them to send the original Life in the UK Certificate. I asked her where it says that to which she said that they have probably not published it but we have been sent instructions to do so.

Has anyone had a similar experience?

Up until May (When I applied) this rule wasnt there..
however things changed after the month of May... and yes many here had these experiences.. so u can relax and dont worry..

it is also not uncommon for UKBA to retain the original LIUK certificate.

Yes she also mentioned that UKBA will probably retain the original LIUK with them.
