Immgration to Italy or France and HIV

Post by Gottamove37 » Tue Aug 07, 2007 2:19 pm

Im trying to find information on immigration and being HIV+.

Healthy, asymptomatic, able to work. Living with it and it hasnt affected me at all.

Anyone know if it would be difficult for me to immigrate to either of these countries?

Want to move there on a permanent basis.

Thank you

What country are you from?
What are your skills? Education, language level for Italian/French?
What is the current situation with your HIV (I mean more financial: medical insurance, public assistance, etc)?

I must apologise to the OP. I had asked some questions in the hope that another board member might find it useful in commenting on his situation. I don't know much about immigration to Europe, other than the UK, but even then, I don't know whether or not they'd ask questions in the application in regards to the applicant's health condition.

I think, though, that he should maybe contact someone - maybe an immigration consultancy company that helps issuing WP/HSMP or something, and just make a general enquiry with them? Maybe they would have come across a similar situation before and can advise him accordingly.

Google's your best bet - there's loads of information there about HIV +ve people emigrating to just about anywhere.

If you have a civil partnership or a long term stable relationship with an EU citizen who you will be moving with, then you should have no problem moving within the EU.
