British Citizenship while dependant settlement visa appeal

Hi Everybody, I don't know whether anyone has come across a similar situation as mine. I got an ILR as a spouse of a British Citizen last year. We applied for our children settlement visa and was refused. We have lodged an appeal and I don't know when the hearing date will be. As I am eligible for the British Citizenship, can I apply for it? Will my children's appeal affect my citizenship application.

Your children's application shouldn't effect your application for citizenship.
