application for ILR

Post by SHREYA V » Wed Jan 07, 2015 10:51 am

Dear All,

I am currently on a UK spouse visa which expires on 17 April 2015.
I have searched and tried to look for information but i cannot find anything related to my case. Sorry if it is a duplicate post and i will be grateful if somebody can post link to relevant post if it already exists.

My case:
1)Initially : Spouse/Partner visa
Issued on 03/07/12 valid until: 18/3/2013
Place of issue: India
Arrived in UK on 25 Jul 2012

My husband was on HSMP at that time.

2)Spouse/Partner visa
Issued on 17/04/2013 valid until: 17/04/2015
Place of issue: UK

My husband got ILR on 25/02/2013 and on 09/12/2014 he got his UK citizenship.

I got the following questions regarding my visa:

1)Am I eligible to apply ILR? I am confused because the rules changed for Spouse visa from 09 July 2012 (5 year rule).

I was issued spouse visa on 03/07/2012(before 09 Jul 2012) and arrived in UK on 25 Jul 2012 (after 09 Jul 2012).

Initial spouse visa was only for few months (bcoz of my husband’s HSMP expiry date) and got spouse visa second time for over 2 years.

2) Do I need to wait until 17/04/2015 or can I apply now?
3) Does my husband need to maintain any funds? If so how much amount and for how many months?
4) I passed the Life in UK test and ESOL exam
5) Could anyone provide me the list of documents needed to apply for my ILR and the right application form, whether it is SET (M)?

I will welcome your help and advice. I just want to make sure that i have prepared all the right documents well in advance.

Any help on this is much appreciated. :?

Thank you.

SET(M), now. Adequate maintenance, etc. See also form for expected documents.
