Dependant status for wife

Post by Pnat14 » Sat Jan 10, 2015 3:22 pm

Hi Folks,

I switched from a Tier 2 to ILR in November 2014. My wife is a on Tier-2 visa since March 2013, would she be eligible now to become my dependant? If so, would her clock start from scratch before she can get an ILR if she becomes my dependant now?
Would be grateful for some advice.

thank you

If she switches to FLR(M) i.e. your dependent, her clock towards ILR will start again from zero and she will have to wait another 5 years and she would not be able to use a combination of the time she is in the UK since she is on her own Tier 2.

The advantage of FLR(M) is that she is not bound by her employer and is free to work for whoever she wishes.
